Genetic Painter ("we", "our", "the app") is a free browser-based tool for creating evolutionary art. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Images you upload: When you upload an image to Genetic Painter, it is processed entirely in your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your original image is not transmitted to our servers for processing. The image data stays on your device.

Painting progress: To allow you to resume your work, the app may periodically save a snapshot of your painting (the generated canvas image and generation count) to our server. This saved data is associated with a hash of your image and does not include your original photograph.

Automatically collected information: Like most websites, our hosting provider may collect standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used for maintaining the service and analyzing general traffic patterns.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Genetic Painter itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services integrated into the site may use cookies:

• Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.
• Google Fonts: We load the Inter font from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

How We Use Your Data

We use the limited data we collect to:

Genetic Painter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

• Use the application without uploading any images
• Use browser settings or extensions to block cookies and third-party tracking
• Request deletion of any saved painting data by contacting us
